Dear BASE Families: Wednesdays at BASE are changing. I am writing to inform you of an exciting new monthly event to ensure your children are not only successful here at BASE but are also college and career ready. While students are typically released at 1:45pm on Wednesdays, we have set aside seven Wednesdays this school year for extra support for students. If a student is failing a course, they are REQUIRED to attend Super Wednesday.
Each Super Wednesday will be divided into three sessions. Super Wednesdays will serve to:
· act as an academic intervention measure by providing students opportunities to receive tutoring and small group instruction. · provide time for make-up work or student conferencing (teacher, guidance, dean, parent, etc.…) · provide additional opportunities such as organizational support, testing accommodations, peer tutoring, Regents Prep, and SAT practice · provide activities such as clubs and sports during session 3 to incentivize attendance for the academic sessions.
Please encourage your child to take advantage of the opportunities available on these days.
